Shariah Requirements of Nikah

Legal Age Limit for Nikkah in Pakistan

The Child Protection Welfare Bureau has presented the Child Marriage Restraint Bill 2024-25 to the Punjab government. It recommends that the minimum age for a girl to marry be raised to 18. Nevertheless, this bill is still under consideration.

Documents Required for Online Nikkah

  • A copy of the CNIC or a copy of the groom’s.
  • Six passport-sized photographs.
  • A copy of the CNIC or a copy of the Passport of both witnesses.

  • In case it’s a groom’s second marriage, a permission letter for a second marriage is required.
  • The bride’s second marriage, the divorce certificate, or the first husband’s death certificate is required.
